"Mama said knock you out!"

So, I may not get the Mom-Of-The-Year Award after all. Rock and I were getting ready to leave my parent's house last night to head over to Young Life, and we had gotten everything all packed back up, including Campbell who was snug as a bug in her car seat right beneath where I was standing. So Marcus hands me my clunky, switchblade of a car key (Audi has those heavy, flip out ones), and then I go to stick it in my purse. Well, it didn't make it to my purse. The stupid key slips out of my hand as I was reaching, and all I hear is a crack and then the loudest scream!! Yup, the darn thing landed right below Campbell's left eye, right on her orbital bone!! Thank God I didn't have the key open! In her 11 months, I have never heard her cry/scream like she did! Talk about pulling my heart right out of my chest. So, Mom runs to get ice to put on her eye, which of course Campbell refuses, Dad runs to get the Infant's Tylenol, and Rock...goes to Dairy Queen. Ha! I, on the other hand, sat down and rocked her to try and calm her (and myself) down, which she did after a while, and when her Nani (My Mom) came back into the room, everything automatically got better. She loves...let me rephrase that...ADORES her Nani! Anyway, for the rest of the night, I was on pins & needles. Of course I had to call a couple of my friends to assure me that DFACS wasn't going to be on my doorstep when I got home. Thanks Ali & Linz.

So, here are some pics of my little boxer...If you haven't noticed, I am one of those Mom's who documents everything!!

This was after we got her calmed down. Its mostly red & swollen.

And this is her eye this morning!!...I just keep telling myself that it could be worse. Poor little thing, she can have anything she wants!

  3. Auh Josie, I just want to give her kisses!! Don’t beat (no pun intended) yourself up about what happened. Accidents are bound to happen. She’s just so lucky to have you and Rock as parents! She’s very loved and TRUST ME, she knows it :)
